D. Matthew Edwards practices primarily in the areas of Missouri Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury and Bankruptcy Law.

He is licensed to practice in the State of Missouri and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Cape Girardeau County Bar, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. In 2014, he was appointed as a member of the panel of Chapter 7 trustees for the Eastern District of Missouri. He has served as a lecturer at continuing legal education programs on Workers’ Compensation and Bankruptcy law.

He is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri and prior to beginning his legal career worked as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration.
He is a graduate of Jackson High School and magna cum laude graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He attended law school at Saint Louis University, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. While attending law school, he served as a clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office in Saint Louis.

He lives in Sikeston with his wife, Abbie, and their three children.
